Production Technology

Isostatic pressing

Working Principle:

The powders are sealed into a flexible mold (or bag) which is in a pressure vessel. Then hydrostatic pressure will be applied to the outside of the mold, until the powders inside have bonded sufficiently to achieve a uniform density.

Advantage:

1. The best uniformity of compaction

2. The first choice for the large and high thickness item with a complex ID.

3. A short production running since no lubricant burn-off stage is required before sintering

4. The tooling cost is lower

Disadvantage:

1. Outside sharps need to be machined for almost all parts

2. It is inefficient for the high-volume production

Dry pressing

Working Principle:

The raw material is ready-made and the pressure of the forming machine is about dozens of tons to 100 tons. According to the different requests, we will use different machines to get the different green bodies. The green bodies made by dry pressing have no wax, so they can be moved to final sintering directly.

Advantage:

1. No wax, so high yield rate for the thick items.

2. Lead time is shorter than slip casting.

3. Have an option for automate production

Disadvantage:

1. Just can produce items which have a sample sharp, such as tube, bar, block

2. Much higher cost on the mold.
